34th Int’l Himalayan Run & Trek annual events ‘Himalayan 100-mile Stage Race’ concludes in Darjeeling

The 34th edition of the International Himalayan Run & Trek Annual Events “Himalayan 100-mile Stage Race” concluded in Darjeeling on 14 November 2025. Adventurers from various countries including like U.S.A, U.K, Germany, South Africa, Singapore, Belgium, Austria and India took part in this world famous international annual event.

Anton Schaefer from Germanywho won the race by winning with an overall time of 18 hour and 54 minutes. The second prize was received by Tigaut Geyns from Belgiumwith a time of 23 hours and 01 minutes. The third prize won by Christopher French from USA with a time of 24 hours and 50 minutes.

In Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race (female) category Janet Payne from UK is the first female winner with 30 Hrs. 39 minutes and Petra Janstchitsch from Austriawith 33 Hrs. 15 Minutes is the second winner. The third prize goes to Louise Johnson from USA with a time of 34 Hrs. 18 minutes.

The trophy for senior participant male and female goes to Janet Payne and Steve Broadbent respectively. The trophy for the youngest participant goes to Tigaut Geyns­­­­­­­­­­­­­. This event is described as most challenging endurance, scenic and beautiful race in the world.

According to race director Mr C.S Pandey, the central ambition behind this event is to preserve the environment and local heritage of Indian Himalaya for future generation also keep the balance between body, mind and soul and make the Darjeeling area as hub for various adventurous sports. Mr. C.S Pandey added that Himalayan Run & Trek International annual event has been started since 1991.
