India’s premier building materials and interiors exhibition, MATECIA Exhibition (Materials & Products for Construction, Interiors & Architecture), was inaugurated on Thursday at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, marking the opening of its 7th edition. This year’s exhibition is expecting around one lakh footfalls.
Organized concurrently with the 11th Edition of THE WADE ASIA, the India Furniture Conclave (IFC), and the Material Technology Conference (MTC), the event will continue till 23 August.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt and founder & CEO of OFF/BEAT; Rajesh Mittal, president of FIPPI and CMD of Greenply Industries Ltd.; and Surinder Arora, president of ILMA and MD of Virgo Laminates Ltd., as chief guests, while N.K. Agarwal, patron of FIPPI and chairperson of Action Tesa Group, and Nandita Das, filmmaker, actor, and producer, attended as the guest of honor. The opening brought together leading voices from the architecture, design, building materials, and interiors sectors, setting the tone for four days of business, design, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
Speaking at the inauguration, Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt and founder & CEO, said, “India’s business and exhibition ecosystem has evolved significantly over the years. Earlier, professionals would often travel to international trade fairs in markets such as Singapore and Las Vegas to experience platforms of this scale and quality. Today, exhibitions like MATECIA demonstrate that India is capable of creating and hosting platforms that meet global standards. The scale, professionalism, and breadth of participation here reflect the growing maturity of India’s industry ecosystem and its ability to bring businesses, professionals, and ideas together on a world-class platform. This is an important step towards strengthening India as a destination for business, innovation, and industry engagement.”
The 2026 National Edition brings together over 350 exhibitors, including Ambiply, Greenply Industries Limited, and CenturyPly, amongst others, and is expected to attract over 50,000 trade visitors from 600+ towns and cities and 14 countries, creating a vibrant platform for the architecture, design, and building ecosystem. The event will feature 100 leading architects and design jury members, 200 finalist presentations, and 100 speakers across the combined conference program.
It will bring together architects, interior designers, dealers, distributors, retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, builders, OEMs, consultants, procurement professionals, and design enthusiasts, offering a comprehensive platform for industry engagement, knowledge exchange, and business opportunities.
The exhibition showcases a wide range of categories across interior and architecture products, furniture, cladding, flooring, laminates, cement boards, plywood and wood panels, decorative highlighters, veneers, surfaces, louvers, doors and windows, kitchens, wardrobes, hardware, machinery and allied products. The breadth of categories positions MATECIA as a business and sourcing platform connecting manufacturers and brands directly with the professional community, influencing material selection and project execution.
Verticaa Dvivedi, Director of MATECIA Exhibition and Founder of THE WADE ASIA Architecture Event, said, “The Delhi edition marks an important milestone for MATECIA, bringing the material, architecture, furniture, and design communities together at a national scale. As the industry evolves beyond traditional product displays, there is a growing need for deeper engagement, knowledge exchange, and new opportunities across the value chain. MATECI A responds to this shift by creating a space where architects, designers, brands, and businesses can discover innovation, explore emerging trends, and build valuable connections. This year, we are bigger, bolder, and more impactful than ever, helping shape what comes next for the industry.”
Emphasizing the business opportunity created by the platform, Pragath Dvivedi, Director, MATECIA Exhibition, said, “The building materials and interiors industry is evolving rapidly, driven by new consumer expectations, changing design preferences, and a growing emphasis on product innovation. MATECIA brings together the different parts of this value chain on one platform, allowing brands to meet markets directly and enabling dealers, distributors, architects, and designers to discover what is emerging across categories. Our focus with the National Edition is to strengthen these business connections and create opportunities that continue beyond the four days of the exhibition.”
A major highlight of the National Edition is its co-location with THE WADE ASIA Architecture Event, bringing together leading architects and interior designers from across India.
With its national participation and diverse program, MATECIA 2026 strengthens Delhi’s position as a key meeting ground for India’s architecture, interiors, and building materials industry, connecting brands and manufacturers with architects, designers, retailers, dealers, and other professionals shaping the built environment.
